In a case reported by The National newspaper, our lawyer Awatif Mohammed, argues that an Australian class teacher should not be held liable for the death of a four-year-old boy who got into the swimming pool without supervision. The teacher is one of six staff at the Australian International School who were charged with the 2018 death, but Ms Mohammed argued there was no link between the teacher’s actions and the boy’s death. She instead described the lack of barriers around the pool that had been complained about several times to the school’s Emirati owner – to no avail.
